Bicycle - Device which a person may ride, which is propelled by human power having two or three wheels. A person riding a bicycle upon a highway has the rights and is subject to the provisions applicable to the driver of a vehicle and subject to the following;
When riding at speed less than the normal speed of traffic rider shall ride as close as practicable to the right-hand curb or edge of the roadway EXCEPT
(1) When overtaking another bicycle, vehicle or pedestrian.
(2) Left turn at an intersection or into a private road or driveway.
(3) To avoid unsafe conditions. Including when a lane is too narrow for bicycle and vehicle to travel safely side by side, “Taking The Lane”.
(4) When approaching a place where a right turn is authorized.
Where a bicycle lane has been established a person operating a bicycle upon the roadway at a speed less than the normal speed of traffic shall ride within the bicycle lane, EXCEPT
(1) When overtaking another bicycle, vehicle, or pedestrian
(2) Left turn at an intersection or into a private road or driveway.
(3) When necessary to avoid debris or other hazardous conditions.
(4) When approaching a place where a right turn is authorized.
Inoperative Traffic Control Devices (May Apply to Detectors That Won’t Detect Bicycles) Any vehicle approaching an intersection which has traffic control signals that are inoperative shall stop at the intersection and proceed when safe.
